Date Announced for Another Tim Lincecum Showcase

The Tim Lincecum comeback attempt is in full swing as he will again throw a bullpen in front of scouts in hopes of being signed to a minor or major league contract.

Lincecum will audition on the mound for teams next week on Thursday, Feb. 15, according to Kyle Boddy of Driveline Baseball. According to Boddy, no media will be allowed access to the showcase.

This offseason, Lincecum has trained at Boddy's data-driven facility in Seattle. This is a big change from the past where Lincecum typically worked out with his father. The emergence of a possible Lincecum comeback, who did not pitch in 2017, first became a reality when Rockies pitcher Adam Ottavino posted a picture of the two-time Cy Young winner with a glove on his hand and clearly in training shape.

Lincecum, now 33, last pitched in 2016 with the Angels after nine seasons with the Giants. His switch to the American League couldn't have gone much worse. In nine starts, Lincecum went 2-6 with a 9.16 ERA in 38.1 innings pitched.

Over nine seasons with the Giants, Lincecum dazzled fans and compiled a 108-83 record, 3.61 ERA and struck out 1,704 batters in 1,634.2 innings pitched.
