Underneath all that smoke at the Berkeley Community Theatre this Saturday you might be able to make out the class comedy duo that is Cheech and Chong.

The local duo recently made up after years of fighting to start touring again.

Since the late 1970s the group released a number of successful comedy albums and starred in a series of low-budget films that developed an underground following.
Best known for glamorizing marijuana and their routine "Basketball Jones," "Earache My Eye," "Santa Claus and  and "Sister Mary Elephant."

Their early success culminated with the release of their first feature-length movie, "Up in Smoke, in 1978."

The movie became a cult classic and was successful enough to earn them the right to make the sequel, "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie," two years later.

The show will start Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Berkeley Community Theatre, 1930 Allston Way. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
