The San Francisco Ballet is getting some well deserved national love thanks to reality television.

The Moscow-born dancer Maria Kochetkova, who is one of the stars of the San Francisco Ballet, is competing on NBC's Superstars of Dance. And while she lets it be known that she is living in San Francisco, she is repping for the Russian team on TV, oh well. At least the local ballet is being mentioned.

The show is produced by Nigel Lythgoe of So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol fame. The show features dance teams from across the world competing against each other.

The judging is set up similarly to ice skating in the Olympics and there are eight countries participating, which gives it an even greater Olympic feel..

“I made it to the semi finals on NBC's Superstars of Dance as the ballet soloist on the Russian team! I got 63 points,”  she said on her blog.

Check out her performance on the video below and be sure to tune in to see how The Bay's finest dancer does.
