Steve Wozniak is more than just a computer genius with an offbeat sense of humor. In his latest quest to become known for something besides cofounding Apple, he's taken a turn as a music critic.

Wozniak, better known as "The Woz," appeared Thursday evening as a judge at the “San Jose Has Talent” competition in downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez. He was part of a panel of judges as 18 amateur singers vied for the winning title.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, Woz was not only there to judge. Music in the Park took place after the competition, where some of Woz’s favorite groups, including the Dusty Rhodes and the River Band, performed.

“San Jose Has Talent” will take place each Thursday at 5:30 PM in Plaza de Cesar Chavez until the final winner is chosen on August 27. The grand prize winner will have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a San Jose Earthquakes game and will receive cash, along with a few other prizes.
