Nude Olympics Return to San Francisco

Organizers say there will be no torch lighting ceremony at the nude olympics

Summer may come to San Francisco a couple of months later than the rest of country, but things are starting to heat up around the City.

Two weeks ago the city hosted one of the largest leather fetish celebrations in the world. This past weekend, thousands spread the love through dance music at the LovEvolution. At both events, clothing was optional.

But clothing is not even an option at this weekend's San Francisco highlight. The annual Nude Beach Olympics is coming back to Baker Beach this Saturday at noon, SF Weekly reported. The paper was also kind enough to answer the burning question: There will be no torch-lighting ceremony.

Former nudist mayoral candidate George Davis is organizing the free event for the second time, which he says drew about 15 competitors and about as many viewers last year. Despite the numerical evidence, Davis says his event will one day be larger than both the Bay to Breakers and Burning Man. Good luck with that.
