Those restaurateurs who can't sell their businesses despite their best efforts—and you know who you are—might want to consider pulling a wacky stunt like one Oregon restaurant.

After unsuccessfully trying to sell Tolly's Restaurant, the debt-laden owner is holding a contest in which entrants just have to pay $500 for a chance to win the restaurant.

The owner thinks he can get at least 1,800 entrants to cover his debt, and then one lucky person buys the million-dollar restaurant for only $500. It's a win-win situation, he insists. Of course, there are plenty of other fun ways to throw away $500.
