Dept of Public Works Seeks Free Labor

 The Department of Pubic Works announced via its YouTube channel that they are seeking volunteers to help clean up and beautify the city.

Yes, a YouTube channel. And yes, this is the sort of activity usually reserved for those who commit misdemeanors.

It could be kind of pleasant: planting trees, putting a fresh coat of paint on dingy walls, and hanging out with neighbors to make the streets more livable. One recent project involved greening up Mission Playground Pool; and the next one is this Saturday from 9am to noon at Justin Herman Plaza.

At the time of writing, the DPW website was down. Maybe it just needs a fresh coat of paint.
