The head of CitiApartments is apparently no longer in trouble.

Walter Lembi's lawyer says reports that his client wrote bad checks in Las Vegas were not correct and instead the head of the City's largest landlord took out personal lines of credit at Casears Palace.

Reports Thursday alleged that Lembi wrote $298,500 worth of bad checks at Caesar's Palace. And after an arrest warrant was issued by the Clark County District Attorney's Office, Lembi's attorney negotiated a settlement.

"There was no check written for insufficient funds," Lembi's attorney Patrick Catalano said. "Mr. Lembi fully intended to pay back the amounts owed, and with this agreement is now doing so."

Lembi is head of the Lembi Group, which manages CitiApartments. The struggling company has become the ire of City renters as the company has fought foreclosure on 23 of its apartments. CitiApartment tenants have complained the landlord has failed to maintain its buildings and bounced deposit checks.
