Squeezing the World's Greatest Job Out of the Strangest of Places

The search to fill the world's greatest job may have actually been rigged but the latest candidate to fill that roll sounds rather cushy. Oh, and how about a place to live in the bargain?

Silicon Valley may have given birth to social networking, and locals are obsessed with using sites like Facebook and Twitter. But it's not clear how microblogging will turn into macrobucks. Here's one answer: Big advertisers willing to pay to have people blurt at a keyboard.

Procter & Gamble Co. is looking for five people willing to spend five weeks living in a Charmin decorated bathroom in Times Square and blog about the experience. In return for documenting their hairy chronicles, bloggers will be paid $10,000 a piece.

Like all great offers, there is a catch. Procter & Gamble wants bloggers to squeeze the Charmin in public during the holiday season, from Nov. 23 to Dec. 31, and to tell the world all about it.

Bloggers will also be responsible for "sharing family-friendly video from the restroom," greet bathroom goers and post their thoughts on various social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

With the Bay Area still shedding jobs and housing costs staying high, it's hard to argue with the free five weeks' rent.

Open auditions for the “Enjoy the Go,” campaign will be held  Nov. 5 at New York’s Hilton Hotel on 53rd Street and 6th Avenue. Be prepared to explain why you "enjoy to go" to the bathroom.
