Cotton Basics, established over 20 years ago is located in a charming storefront right in the heart of Noe Valley. The faded exterior signboard of the original occupant, an old time neighborhood pharmacy, stands as a reminder of days gone by.

This shopping district has a laid-back, yet exhilarating and vibrant aura. The bustle of locals walking with their dogs or pushing babies in fashionable carriages only adds to the urban cool aesthetic. It is this current atmosphere that earns Cotton Basics the title of Founding Retailer since the resurgence of this area, established long ago, began in the early 90's.

Privately owned by local entrepreneurs, Cotton basics designs, dyes, cuts & sews natural fabrics right here in the Bay Area. Manufacturing of this quality garment dyed cotton clothing takes place exclusively at their own retail stores. Step inside and the shop's contribution to the San Francisco contemporary casual fashion scene is immediately apparent.

The styles range from basic to seasonal to forefront fashion. Silhouettes in tops include scoop, turtle and V-necks, stacked up right next to halters, twist-fronts and crews. Leggings, tapered leg, wide leg and cropped styles are part of the bottoms line-up. The perfect hoodies and cardigans are available in a variety of lengths and details include mixed textures. Color choices run the gamut from eggplant to honey, teal to olive, along with all the traditional basics. Toss some brights into the mix and its just enough to liven up the eye catching combos.

Cotton Basics should really be referred to as the House of Casual. If they don’t stock the color or size on location, they’ll probably offer to make it for you. Who does that outside of couture?

Quite simply, Cotton Basics offers up some of the best cotton separates on the planet. All items are soft to the touch and designed to fit just about everybody. Sometimes there’s a bit of spandex blended in for added flexibility and comfort- all the better.
Fill a closet with just Cotton Basics and the endless debate of what-to-wear could be a thing of the past. There’s even the perfect little black dress.

Contemporary clothes, contemporary prices and its local!
