The Great GoogaMooga Presents: Chef James McDuffee's Fried Chicken Banh Mi

Leave it to chef James McDuffee, chef de cuisine of West Village's Joseph Leonard, to bring a far-beyond-average culinary treat to the Great GoogaMooga food lineup. Introducing the fried chicken banh mi… and yes, you can get a bite of this at this weekend's food and music festival in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Here's what the chef is looking forward to at this weekend's foodie and music celebration:

What makes the event GREAT?
The beautiful weather. The greatness that is prospect park. The amazing lineup of restaurants. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band. I haven't seen them play since I lived in NoLa.

What will you be serving?

Fried chicken banh mi with pork rillette, cilantro aioli, radish, cucumber, and carrots.

Best three words to describe why people should try it:

Hungry, Selection, Loud

What are you personally looking forward to this weekend other than your own event?

People watching--100,000 New Yorkers in one park. There is no way that everyone keeps it together.

We love saying "GoogaMooga." Feel free to entertain us and use it in a sentence… however you like.
To paraphrase Eric Tran, sous chef at Jeffrey's Grocery, "Googa Mooga in your face."

The Great GoogaMooga is an "amusement park of food and drink" and live music going on this Saturday and Sunday in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Go on, get your Googa on!
