Facebook Investor Pays Record-Breaking $100M for CA Mansion

Yuri Milner may not be a household name but the Russian billionaire sure knows how to shock a nation. The internet tycoon recently purchased a mega mansion in Los Altos Hills, CA for the jaw-dropping sum of $100 million, which marked "the highest known price paid for a single-family home in the U.S.", according to The Wall Street Journal.

Apparently, $100 million buys a lot these days in what has become a real estate market full of price reductions and slow sales. The billionaire's new Bay Area digs include 25,000 square feet of living space in the style of an 18th-century French chateaux. The magnificent home features five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, indoor and outdoor pools, a wine cellar, a ballroom, a home theater, and spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay.

The 47-year old has built his empire by investing in Facebook, Zynga and Groupon, and according to Luxist, he appeared on the cover of the most recent issue of Forbes magazine. It was revealed that Milner's new $100 million Silicon Valley residence is in fact his second home away from home and that he and his family have no immediate plans to move in.
