Another of “Gulliver's” Trailers Arrives

Jack Black's recent spate of duds has us a little dubious about his upcoming "Gulliver's Travels" adaptations, so we have to admit we may be watching this new trailer with jaundiced eyes.

Since 2006, Black has starred in "The Holiday," "Be Kind Rewind" and "Year One," a string of films that haven't left anyone feeling particularly good. The guy's got serious chops and boundless energy, but looking back on his career it seems as though his talents are better suited to second-banana roles.

Watching the new "Gulliver's Travel" trailer, this lesson comes through again. In large doses, the guy starts to feel shticky. Some writers are better at short stories than novels, some musicians write great songs rather than albums and some comedians wok better in small doses--that's just how it goes.

Anyway, Black is surrounded by a load of talented people, including Emily Blunt, Jason Segel, Amanda Peet, Romany Malco and Billy Connolly, and the film was co-written by Nicholas Stoller, whose "Get Him to the Greek" admittedly fell apart in the last 15 minutes, but was still pretty good.

Take a look for yourself and tell us what you think, the film comes out Dec. 22.
