After a small warning stroke this week added to the rocker's laundry list of medical misfortunes, Michaels' crew insists he has every intention to show up for the May 23 live finale of the reality show.
"As far as I know, Bret will be there unless his doctor tells him otherwise," Michael's rep told People.com. "We're cautiously optimistic that he will attend the finale. But ultimately, it's up to his doctors."
Assuming a lightning bolt does not strike him on the way to the studio, Michaels will square off against Holly Robinson Peete in the final boardroom challenge.
After suffering from a brain hemorrhage last month, Michaels felt numbness on the left side of his body and his face. Testing showed that he had suffered what doctors called a warning stroke. Further testing also showed that Michaels had a hole in his heart. While both conditions are treatable, you would think that would be a sign to stay in bed for a little while longer.
But as his rep said in a statement: "(Bret) has made it clear he is sick and tired of being in the hospital and is ready to rock again."
And rock he will if/when he makes the big, live finale. Last season Trump showed a ridiculous soft-side (or pr savvy) handing the Apprentice-crown to Joan Rivers over the far-more deserving Annie Duke.
So, it's pretty clear how this will end should Michaels even show up. There's no way he would not win. Trump will hand him the big job without blinking or thinking. Probably more deservedly this time around, considering all Michaels has been through.
