Even Oprah's Cleaning Lady Wants a Gig On New Network

While Oprah Winfrey couldn't be more excited about starting her own network, she admits there are downsides to being in charge of network programming.

Like when her Romanian lady cleaning talks about how she desperately wants to do a segment "on cleaning tips."

"I don't think she's eligible," Winfrey said to at a sneak peek of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) at the Discovery Communications Upfront in Los Angeles Thursday.

Speaking from satellite in Chicago, Winfrey showed off a number of exciting shows which will begin when the OWN network launches on Jan. 11, 2011. There's a show which takes a skeptical look into miracles and country star Shania Twain has her own uplifting reality show.

But the biggest buzz from the audience came with a sneak peak of  "Behind the Scenes: The Oprah Show Final Season."

"I believe in this network so much that I have agreed to do something crazy," Winfrey said. "I, Oprah Winfrey, am doing a reality show."

She showed snippets as well which will highlight Winfrey's final season as a talkshow host. Odd sights included  Winfrey in a bubble bath and Winfrey picking up after her dog. Another work scene showed Winfrey about to bring the hammer down on an employee who made a big mistake.

Oprah said her staff, who will be featured on the show, are "my family." "You're going to see what it's really like to work for me," said Oprah.
