“Higglety Pigglety Pop!” Short Added to “Where the Wild Things Are” Disc

Good news for all you hardcore Maurice Sendak fans out there -- a 23-and-a-half minute short film based on "Higglety Pigglety Pop!" is among the bonuses on the upcoming "Where the Wild Things Are" DVD.

"Higglety Pigglety Pop! or There Must Be More to Life" is a combination live-action and animated short film by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, the duo that created the Oscar-nominated short "Madame Tutli-Putli."

Yesterday Warner Bros. released a bushel of stills and clips to /Film.

The short film features the voices of Meryl Streep, Forrest Whittaker and Spike Jonze, director of "Wild Things," which comes out on Blu-ray on March 2.

"Higglety" will have its world premiere Feb. 28 at Montreal Children’s International Film Festival, and will be followed by a special presentation with the directors and the puppeteers. The National Film Board of Canada will distribute a DVD later this summer.
