Mark Ruffalo Stoked to Be the First 3D Mo-Cap Hulk

Unlike his Hulk predecessors Edward Norton and Eric Bana, actor Mark Ruffalo will actually get to control the green giant's movement in "The Avengers."

"I'm really excited. No one's ever played the Hulk exactly, they've always done CGI," Ruffalo told Vulture. "They're going to do the 'Avatar' stop-action, stop-motion capture. So I'll actually play the Hulk. That'll be fun."

As exciting for Ruffalo as the chance to don a motion-capture suit is the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Bill Bixby, the man who fist portrayed Dr. Bruce Banner on the TV show "The Incredible Hulk."

"I really love the first TV version of it, the Bill Bixby one," Ruffalo told us. "I'm gonna shoot for that a little bit. He was an everyman in it. He's always on the run and trying to find love. It's really a sympathetic character, before he turns into the Hulk and f***s everything up."

And Ruffalo gives fair warning to anyone sitting in the front rows for the 3D superhero spectacle.

"I hope I don't bulge in anyone's face, that's all I have to say."

"The Avengers" is slated for release May 4, 2012.
