Last we saw of Minka Kelly's character on "Friday Night Lights," she was enjoying one last romp with high-school love Tim Riggins in his trailer before heading off into her own collegiate sunset.

Riggins has moved on. Offscreen, so has Kelly, who will move from the great dramatic series that is "FNL" and try her hand at comedy.
EW.com reports that Kelly has landed a role in a prospective CBS laugher, "True Love." The project will be produced by Matt Tarses of "Scrubs" and "Worst Week."

It will be interesting to see if Kelly has the chops for comedy. She certainly is familiar with the material. The reported fiance to New York Yankee Derek Jeter will star as one of four friends looking for love in New York City. Her corn flake girl beauty so on display in "FNL" will be put to good use again. Kelly will play a girl who is "sweet, strong-willed and Midwestern."
