Having opted out of consideration for David Fincher's remake of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," Swedish film star Noomi Rapace has decided instead to branch out into other roles while her "people" prep an Oscar campaign.
Rapace, of course, originated the role of Lisbeth Salander, heroine of the Millennium Trilogy, which was recently bequeathed unto Rooney Mara. Now Rapace is meeting with everyone in sight to discuss possible roles, among them:
And when they're not too busy setting up meetings, Rapace's reps are preparing to put her in the hunt for a Best Actress nomination for her role in the Swedish version of "Dragon Tattoo," according to Deadline.
Who knows if the Oscar campaign will get any traction, but you can be sure that she'll land parts in at least two high-profile films. Whether she can parlay those into a Hollywood career, who knows? We give her about a 50-50 chance.
