Sony Pictures Picks Up "Attack the Block"

There's been great buzz around this film about a teenage street gang in London that must defend their turf against an alien invasion. Nick Frost co-stars in this sci-fi adventure, which opens in the UK May 13, but is not yet scheduled stateside.

"Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy

Directed by Tomas Alfredson ("Let the Right One In") and starring Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Colin Firth, John Hurt, Benedict Cumberbatch and Toby Jones, in this latest incarnation of John Le Carre's masterpiece. Opens Dec. 9.

A week after being named Best Picture at the London Film Festival, "We Need to Talk About Kevin" garnered six nominations for the British Independent Film Awards, but three other films--"Shame," "Tyrannosaur" and "Tinker, Tailor Soldier, Spy"--led the way with seven nominations apiece.
