Apple CEO Tim Cook is trying to make his company a little greener.
The Cupertino-based technology company's environmental record has long been questioned by critics who say Apple could do a better job of being green.
Now Apple is planning to use the power of the sun behind its massive energy-sucking data center in North Carolina.
Apple reportedly will be a 100-acre solar spread in the state and once completed it will be the largest user-owned solar set up in the country.
The company already spent about $1 billion to build the 500,000-square-foot data center that the new solar plant will be powering.
