One of Apple's marketing brains is leaving the company on her own accord.
Allison Johnson, who reported directly to Apple CEO Steve Jobs, is leaving the Cupertino-based company after six years to start her own marketing firm with a former public relations executive at Facebook.
Brandee Barker left Facebook last November after returning to the company from maternity leave.
She said at the time she realized what she valued about her career was doing marketing for young startups and she wanted to get back to it.
Johnson and Barker will join forces to launch their own firm.
The former Apple executive had a hand in the company's clever campaigns pushing its popular line of products.
