Fake Apple Stores Look Pretty Real

Pretending to be an Apple Store sounds like a difficult thing to pull off.  But not in China, apparently.

A woman living there says she spotted a few fake Apple Stores in Kunming. She posted pictures on her blog.

"I went inside and poked around. They looked like Apple products. It looked like an Apple store. It had the classic Apple store winding staircase and weird upstairs sitting area," she wrote. "The employees were even wearing those blue t-shirts with the chunky Apple name tags around their necks."

The blogger said the fake store would fool most people, unless you pay attention to the small details.

"This was a total Apple store ripoff. A beautiful ripoff - a brilliant one - the best ripoff store we had ever seen (and we see them every day)," she wrote. "But some things were just not right: the stairs were poorly made. The walls hadn't been painted properly."

The sign outside even said "Apple Store," something a legit store doesn't do. "It just puts up the glowing, iconic fruit," she wrote.

Apple confirmed the blogger's suspicions, but the funniest thing is that even some of the employees working there believed it was a real Apple store.
