Google Event Canceled By Hurricane Sandy

Google announced it canceled its Monday event in New York City because of Hurricane Sandy.

The event was rumored to launch Android 4.2 and a 10-inch Nexus 10 tablet, but that may be delayed for a few days, according to Mashable. The email from Google read:

We are canceling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.

The hurricane is a Category 1 storm that has the potential to be much worse and could even be dubbed "Frankenstorm" by meteorologists. According to reports, the new Nexus 10 tablet by Samsung is expected to be the same price as the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 (starting at $349).

The event was also rumored to feature the new Nexus 4 smartphone from LG will feature a quad-core SnapDragon processor and 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It will also have a 1280 by 768 display and an 8 megapixel camera.

There was no word on a rescheduled date, though we imagine it will be as soon as possible.
