Google has poached some of the Hewlett Packard team responsible for Enyo, the webOS's framework that was on the HP TouchPad.
The news comes at a time when HP employees should be jumping ship -- the company just announced it's laying off 27,000 employees, according to Bloomberg Businessweek.
Enyo is an HTML5-based application framework, so it's unclear how the team will fit in with Google, the Verge reported, although it's likely that engineers are engineers in any platform and Google plans to use the to come up with Android innovations.
The entire team isn't leaving HP, but team leader Matt McNulty and others "responsible for 99 percent of the code" are heading to Mountain View. This makes sense because talented code monkeys are in short supply and Google could only benefit from new ideas and abilities.
