Job Screening Agency to Archive Facebook

If you're one of those people who hasn't bothered to figure out how to crank up those Facebook privacy settings, maybe this will convince you.

The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has given approval to the Social Intelligence Corp, which has archives of files on Facebook users' posts as part of a background-checking service, reports All Facebook.

The FTC says Social Intelligence complies with the Fair Credit Reporting Act, which is the same set of rules that keeps your credit records for seven years.

So next time you go posting photos of that drunken night with your pals, remember, even if you delete an hour later, there's a good chance it'll sit in your file for seven years, which could lead to prospective employers moving on to the next person.
