New Facebook Flu App Tells You Who to Blame

Once you have the flu you will probably have plenty of time to miserably think who infected you. Now, with a new Facebook application, you can finger many of your Facebook friends as the culprits.

“Help, My Friend Gave Me the Flu” is a new app that scans through friends' pages on the social network looking for tell-tale words such as sneezing, coughing or vomiting, and also logs check-ins to see if your paths may have crossed, according to the New York Daily News. As the app says on its Facebook page:

Hello. I’m sorry you have the flu. Nothing will make you feel better like finding somebody to blame.
The app is from Help, an irreverent pharmaceutical company that markets its small packets of over-the-counter drugs with a single active ingredient, less dyes and coatings. Its website features answers to such questions as "Help, I'm sexually frustrated"  (it pops up a bottle of beer) to "Help, I hate my eyebrows" (it shows three people with and without eyebrows and writes, "You are lucky you have any eyebrows at all.")

The app has a "Who Made Me Sick" button that tracks down people who may have the flu and allows the user to message the prime suspects or -- of course! -- purchase Help flu or cold remedies.

While this is certainly no Centers for Disease Control and Prevention flu update, it does provide some amusement among friends.
