Blue-Collar Apple: New iPad at Walmart, Target and Sam's Club

Those heading to the Apple store to buy the new iPad may face long lines and frustration -- but Apple has gone decidedly working-class this time out and will be selling the devices at Radio Shack, Sam's Club, Target and Walmart.

Apple had been at work developing partnerships with Target and Sam's Club earlier this year, and both will be selling the devices starting 8 a.m. Friday. Along with the two stores, the new iPad will also be available at Walmart, Radio Shack and Best Buy. (Apple will also be selling online.)

Essentially by placing mini-stores and Apple products in discount stores, Apple is able to make inroads into the heartland and areas without nearby Apple stores. Expanding into places like Walmart or Sam's Club is a huge change in the tech company's demographics and its bottom line. Plus, it gives fanboys more places to score the latest Apple device.
