Point and Shoot Translation Comes to the iPhone

Universal translators embedded in our brains may still be a long way off, but in the meantime instantaneous translation via your iPhone is now as simple as point and shoot.

Japan Goggles is an iPhone application developed by Iulian Florea, a former student of Japanese who wanted a simpler way to translate kanji characters on the go. The app allows you to photograph Japanese or Chinese characters and the get a definition of the word, even without a connection to the Internet.
