A new survey says that people can expect the most response to their Facebook posts on Thursdays.
The two-week survey by Buddy Media is limited in scope and by its 200 clients, according to AllFacebook. The survey was taken Jan. 30 through Feb. 12 -- wasn't there a holiday in there? Secondly -- just two weeks? Is that enough Thursdays to really draw a statistical conclusion? Of course not.
Buddy Media's reports also gave us such jewels as, "Posts of 80 characters or less had a 27 percent higher engagement rate," and "The less people want to be at work, the more they are on Facebook!" It also stresses that URL shorteners repel readers at a rate of 3 to 1 and posting after business hours can give posts more readers.
As AllFacebook pointed out, this isn't a good study. It's a snippet of information good for a press release and notice in the media, but gives nothing of any real scientific value.
