Depeche Mode has just announced the much-anticipated North American leg of their massive Delta Machine World Tour. The band is set to play the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on September 26. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on April 6, but fans who download Live Nation’s iPhone and Android app will be able to get their hands on tickets a day early. The special presale for Live Nation’s mobile app users will start at 10 a.m. on April 5.
Having sold over 100 million albums worldwide over the course of their three decade-plus career, Depeche Mode is the most successful electronic band in music history. But though the groundbreaking British group may be masters of the electronic genre, they are no servants to circuitry. Their new single “Heaven,” taken from the forthcoming album Delta Machine, is an epic downtempo piano-driven ballad featuring the haunting vocals of Dave Gahan and fuzzed out electric guitars of Martin Gore.
Though the album won’t be released worldwide until March 26, the band previewed several tracks from it on an extended Live on Letterman webcast earlier this week.
