Gilman Throws Musician Swap Meet

Trade instruments and electronics on Feb. 24

If your spare room or garage looks like a Guitar Center storeroom, you might want to consider unloading some items at the Musicians and DIY Electronics SWAP Meet at the end of this month. Conversely, if you’re on a budget and are hankering for new toys to tinker with — or are in need of parts to repair ones you already own — this could be the perfect bring and buy sale for you.

The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Berkeley’s legendary DIY punk rock spot 924 Gilman. Sellers pay $15 for a table and the privilege of peddling their wares, while buyers are welcome to browse for free.

Suggested items to bring for sale or trade include all manner of musical instruments, amplifiers, pedals, recording equipment, plus books, manuals, electronic items and spare parts. However there are a few things you’re encouraged to leave at the door, since the staunchly independent, all-ages, member run venue has a strict no drugs, alcohol, violence, or racism policy.
