It's been a great year for Hunx and His Punx, the one-of-a-kind and very San Francisco band. Fronted by Seth Bogart, Hunx takes familiar musical conventions like old-school girl groups and punk and shakes it up into something that manages to both evoke nostalgia and reinvent the past.

The second album Street Punk was released earlier this year. It showcases the songwriting talents of both Bogart and Punx lady Shannon Shaw and includes a raucous cover of Beastie Boys' "Egg Raid on Mojo."

The band truly comes alive on stage, and Hunx and His Punx is set to perform an all ages show with Wet Drag at 8 p.m. on October 21 at The Chapel in San Francisco. Tickets are $12 in advance via Ticketfly and $14 at the door.
