Mistah FAB Gives Back

Rapper's annual Christmas drive is Dec. 23

Though he's moved to Los Angeles to further his rap career, Mistah FAB (born Stanley Cox) is still all about Oakland in his heart. He'll host his annual Christmas drive, as he has done for the past eight years, from noon to 6 p.m. on December 23 at North Side Market on the North Oakland/Emeryville border.

The event includes free hot meals, toys for kids, and blankets for the homeless and is made possible in part by the contributions of other local natives and luminaries including rapper MC Hammer, CC Sabathia (New York Yankees), Jimmy Rollins (Philadelphia Phillies), and Marshawn Lynch (Seattle Seahawks). He's looking to the community for additional help to make this a great Christmas for the less fortunate. Donations to the drive are being accepted (call Theresa Anderson at 510-228-8419 or email dabusride@gmail.com). People are also encouraged to drop off unwrapped toys and blankets for the drive at the North Side Market.

Mistah FAB's philanthropic efforts in Oakland also includes annual backpack giveaways to children who are about to go back to school.
