Last night during a podcast hosted by DrFunkenberry.com, the ladies behind Prince's new protégé band 3rd Eye Girl (Donna Grantis, Hanna Ford-Welton, and Ida Nielsen) announced that they will tour with the Purple One.
The show is expected to stop at San Francisco's DNA Lounge on April 23-24. Two shows will be performed each night.
The artist formerly known as The Artist has been writing music with and for 3rd Eye Girl, such as on the recent single "Live Out Loud." A moody blend of edgy rock and funk, it's no rehash of the oversexed Vanity 6.
The event has not yet appeared on the official calendar at DNA so the ticket price is currently unknown, but the two dates are mysteriously gray there on the website.
Expect more info to emerge next week, and the tickets will be sure to go fast once they do go on sale.
