Southern California rave retailer EmazingLights-iHeartRaves has opened its first store in the Bay Area at 100 Dixon Road in Milpitas. This is the fourth physical location for the purveyor of LED rave gloves and other party-friendly gear, which is also a successful online company.

Glove-assisted light shows (or "gloving") has grown into a huge phenomenon at raves, specialty events, and competitions over the past few years, with Emazing at the center of the action. The company supports gloving teams and throws monthly events.

The South Bay location was chosen as a nexus for rave enthusiasts from San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, a population that has numbered in the thousands for two decades and counting. And people are encouraged not only to buy but to learn about and practice the gloving culture. Inside the 2000-square foot space are 25-foot wall mirrors, a hardwood dancefloor, and 1000 watts of surround sound power.

The Milpitas store softly opened on March 22 and has planned a free grand opening celebration on April 5. Hours will be 1-10 p.m., with a Gloving 101 workshop at 6 p.m. and a Friday Night Lights gloving community social event from 7-10 p.m.
