Ashkon is at it again. Two years after the East Bay native (full name: Ashkon Davaran) introduced himself to baseball fans by reworking Journey's '80s classic cut "Don't Stop Believin'" into a Giants-centric tune, the singer is back with a new song to celebrate the team's World Series win.
This time, he's tackled Queen's mighty "We Are The Champions" and transformed it into a dramatic Giants anthem (sample lyric: "No time for Dodgers, 'cause we are the champions!"). An accompanying video for the song intersperses footage of live performances from Queen's late lead singer Freddie Mercury with scenes from last week's Giants victory parade.
There's still time to catch Ashkon playing the lead in the musical Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. The show runs through November 24 at the SF Playhouse in San Francisco.
