Aubrey Huff Goes on Disabled List for Anxiety

Huff is supposed to meet with the team on Friday.

The mystery surrounding the absence of Aubrey Huff deepened a bit Wednesday when the team put the player on the 15-day disabled list.

Comcast said the disability was listed as "anxiety," according to Bruce Bochy who made the announcement before Game 2 against the Cincinnati Reds.

Huff has been away from the team since at least Monday's double-header in New York. He could have left on Sunday, since that game was a rain out. On Monday and Tuesday, Bochy said that Huff was away on a "personal matter."

Bochy said Huff was getting treatment and would meet with the team Friday when they get back in San Francisco.

Bochy did not indicate whether the cause of the anxiety was personal or baseball related, according to Comcast.  Huff has been in a hitting slump and was reportedly mortified that he was asked to play  second base against the Mets.
