Pitcher Brian Wilson works the ninth inning against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on April 12, 2012 in Denver, Colorado. He will likely need elbow surgery.
Prepare yourselves for the committee of closers, Giants fans.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy grudgingly informed the media Saturday that All-Star closer Brian Wilson had an MRI Friday night that revealed "structural issues" in his throwing elbow (video below).
"He's likely looking at surgery," Bochy said.
Wilson will go for a second and likely third opinion. Head athletic trainer Dave Groeschner said he would probably see arm specialist Dr. James Andrews.
The extent of the damage was not revealed.
