The Bay Area woke up to cloudy skies Sunday and forecasters said that was about as good as it was going to get with rain in the forecast.
The clouds increased during the day and will turn to rain at some point overnight. The rain stayed clear of AT&T Park Sunday, but will threaten once again on Monday. The city of San Francisco has an 80-percent chance it will see rain at some point Monday, with the potential for a lingering shower or two during Monday night's deciding Game 7. First pitch is 5:07 p.m. and you should bring your rain gear.
The Giants ground crew put the tarp out on the field before heading home Sunday night to keep the infield dry.
On Sunday the temperatures were in the mid 60s to lower 70s. Winds increased ahead of the cold front arriving Monday morning with south to southeasterly winds from 15-25 mph for most of the Bay Area and locally higher gusts near the coast and hills.
The rain will begin in the North Bay and spread south for the Monday morning commute. Slick roads and blustery winds will make for challenging driving conditions at times.
Monday's highs should be in the 50s to upper 60s.
The chances for rain will continue through midweek with a large trough of low pressure anchored off the West Coast, spinning more rainy systems our way.

The robust Sierra snowfall and week-long anticipated rain totals of 3"-4" in the North Bay, 1 1/2" to 2" for the peninsula and East Bay, with 1" to 1/12" for the South Bay will help ease fire danger issues more typical to late October climate around the Bay Area.
The Sierra could get some of the first significant fall snowfall this week at elevations above 6,000 ft with totals in the 10"-20" range by Tuesday afternoon. There is a winter storm warning for the Tahoe area Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Travellers should plan on Winter-like driving conditions at times at least through Thursday of this week in the high country.
