San Jose Mayor-Elect Sam Liccardo teamed up with San Francisco Giants World Series champion Travis Ishikawa to pass out food to thousands of families in need.

The pair joined volunteers and workers with the Reaching Out Food Center at Cathedral of Faith church in San Jose.

They are providing holiday meals for nearly 3,900 families.

Ishikawa was a hero in the 2014 National League Championship Series, when he hit a walk-off home run that sent the Giants to the World Series.
