Sports "television" has improved dramatically over the past few years, and Showtime's new reality show about the San Francisco Giants -- titled 'The Franchise' -- appears poised to add to a growing list of fantastic documentary coverage about athletics.
Although an "actual preview" hasn't shown up on the Showtime website yet, some vigilant Giants fan swooped to the rescue with a handheld cam while he/she was watching a boxing match on Showtime. No, seriously, he says as much in the comments on YouTube.
It looks, to be honest, fantastic. There's cement-block tossing. There's shark-fishing. There's Tim Lincecum driving. There's Barry Zito pitching. And puh-lenty of beards.
