Virgin America Jet Goes to Brian Wilson

When you head out to the ball park this season, think Virgin, as in the airline.

The San Francisco Giants will be flying high this season with their air-partner Virgin America. Virgin even decked out a new Giants' themed Airbus A320 jet. The plane has Giants' logos and a Brian Wilson beard.

You might start seeing it at an SFO gate starting next week as it begins flying nationwide. Virgin named the plane "Fly Bye Baby."

The Giants kick off the Bay Bridge Series next Monday. Opening Day is Friday, April 13.

Giants President and CEO Larry Baer and Virgin America President and CEO David Cush also teamed up to create a new mood-lit Virgin America Club Level at AT&T Park.  The Club Level now has a purple hue lighting and red jets on the glass leading to the stadium.

"The Giants and Virgin America share a common goal of delivering an innovative, creative and high quality customer experience.  Our expanded partnership will allow us to bring the unique and entertaining Virgin America experience to our fans at AT&T Park and Giants baseball to guests on board Virgin America flights,” said Baer.

Virgin is also opening a new high-end bar for fans. The Virgin America Flight Deck will be located up top behind Sections 229 & 230.  It includes new seating, a bar, two fire pits and some of the best views available in the ballpark, according to Virgin.

"As the only airline headquartered in San Francisco, we’re thrilled to renew and expand our partnership with our hometown team," said Cush.  "Our success as an airline is a credit to the outpouring of support we have received from the Bay Area community – our guests, teammates and partners like the Giants.  Virgin America is all about reinventing the typical flight experience with beautiful design, the best entertainment and the newest technology, much like the Giants and AT&T Park have changed game day for millions of baseball fans.  So we are incredibly proud to be part of the City, this ballpark and to have the opportunity to support this world-class team."

Virgin planes will also feature new Giants content for passengers. A new Giants channel will soon be available on board flights in April. It will also host behind-the-scenes fan content, including highlights from 2012 Spring Training and 2010 season footage.

This probably goes without saying, but Virgin America is the Official Airline of the San Francisco Giants. It will be through the 2015.
