Charlie Palmer's Pigs & Pinot

60 PINOTS: That's the number of sips that'll be going mano-y-mano (or perhaps drop-y-drop) in the blind taste test at Pigs & Pinot, Charlie Palmer's annual foodie to-do that raises funds for Share Our Strength and area schools. Most of the Friday, March 18 and Saturday, March 19 action is centered around Hotel Healdsburg, including the Friday night Taste of Pigs & Pinots (that's where the aforementioned 60 wines will come out to play). Saturday night is the gala at Dry Creek Kitchen, which is located at the hotel.

SATURDAY SEMINARS: There's a pair of them, including the Palmer-led "Tournament of the Pig." Yep, there's competition involved and yep, there's pork involved, and yep, a trio of chefs, plus Chef Palmer, will be at the stoves. Get details about the weekend, which celebrates year six in 2011.

SAVOR SONOMA VALLEY: The widespread taste-a-thon is not related to Pigs & Pinot, but it is going down about the same time, so we wanted to make mention. Get details.
