Morro Bay Avocado & Margarita Festival

Two incredibly tasty things come together in one of the best places.

MORRO AMORE: We have a potentially awesome idea for a travel industry offshoot; nope, it probably isn't a money-maker, and, yeah, it might be tricky to figure out specifics, but still, we've totally got a fist pump ready for this one: Wouldn't it be great if you could do some of your harder tasks and errands in the most beautiful places in the state? Like, say, if you had to fill out a bunch of paperwork, you could sit under a sequoia. Anyone with me? Yeah, we said it probably wouldn't be a money-maker. But one city that would make any arduous task better is Morro Bay; life to us always seems perfect there -- we know it isn't, of course, but in our daydreams -- and any time we have to handle any annoying must-do, we often think, why aren't we doing this while sitting next to Morro Rock? Less stress. Which all means that when something wonderful and tasty goes down in the area, it is worth nothing. And try these two wonderful, tasty things on for size: avocados and margaritas. The Central Coast community is preparing to fete them, once again, in a weekend-long party.

THE DATES: Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16 are the dates for the Sixth Annual Avocado and Margarita Festival. The green, be-pitted fruit is grown in the area, natch, so the city wants to celebrate. And how better to celebrate than adding a splash of tequila to the mix. Saturday's got the longer hours, note.

LASTLY... You totally get what we were going for there, right, Morro Bay? That you make even hard things better? And that when there's a fun event within your borders, it probably is more fun than most places? We know, we're full of theories, but we do stand by this one, firmly. Now, we'll take an order of guacamole please. Thank you.
