NorCal KnockOut

Vintage cars, vintage cycles, and vintage style rule Vallejo.

STYLE AND SETTING: There's much to be said about throwing a bash that suits its setting. Plan a 1920s-style wedding and set it in a modern, all-glass manor? Kind of neat but a bit discombobulating, too. The NorCal KnockOut is all about being thorough in its devotion to cars and car culture from a certain era. That era is the 1950s -- well, ish -- meaning that the Solano County Fairgrounds, which were built in 1949, make a fine backdrop for the out-sized fins and the big chrome swirls and all the other vehicle-sweet details that'll go on display during the vroom-vroom party. The party is up on Saturday, July 7, and this is what visitors can expect.

PRE-1970s LOVE: If you adore autos that are approaching their half-century mark -- or have now passed it -- the KnockOut is your scene. "American Made Hot Rods, Kustoms, Bombs, Gassers, Nostalgic, Race and Muscle Cars" will be in the line-up, as well as vintage trailers and speed boats. Basically if it was built anywhere from 1940 to 1960 and it has an engine and a wheels (or rudder), it just might show up at the Vallejo bash.

ALSO AT THE BASH... Live music, a barbecue, tiki carvers, a mustache contest, ladies in lovely pin-up wear, guys sporting the request muscle shirts and porkpie hats, and loads of vendors supporting vintage car culture and the rockin' lifestyle it is paired with. A ticket is ten bucks, parking is seven bucks, and kids under 10 get in free. Interested in getting your own haute wheels on the line-up? That registration is a bit more. Here's your info.
