Wild Valentine's Day Ideas in San Diego

For when roses and candles are so "been there, done that"

MY WILD VALENTINE: Need to shake things up a bit this Valentine's Day? Look no further. We've got some "wild" ideas including two of San Diego's most famous tourist destinations. This time of year is a great time to visit the San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park without the heat and without the crowds.

WEEKEND ROMANCE: If your work hours leave little time for romance, plan ahead with a weekend dinner at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. For $99 per couple, you'll enjoy the park's dinner Saturday, Feb. 11 beginning at 6 p.m. Along with dinner and a bottle of house wine, you'll see one of the residents up close with an animal exhibit.  (Non-members must add park admission). Call 760-738-5055 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m..

SOUNDS OF LOVE: On Sunday, lovers can join the Caravan Safari more than two hours
of feeding animals, munching on desserts and enjoying the park at dusk. A special
speaker will share "tales of the wild side" so leave the kids at home.

SLOPPY KISS ALERT: Give that special someone the chance of a lifetime to get up close and personal with a cuddly Beluga at SeaworldSanDiego.  The chance to touch and feed the whales is rare - only a few guests get to enjoy the experience each day.

DINNER FOR TWO: Looking for the more traditional with a hint of wild? Executive Chef Chris Mirguet and Albert's Chef Charles Boukas will prepare an elegant dinner for you and the special someone in your life at the San Diego Zoo. For $99 per couple, you'll enjoy a reservation-only dinner that includes one bottle of house wine per couple. Call 619-557-3964 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for information.
