A Wine & Food Affair

WINE ROAD RAMBLE: Things never truly wind down for a tasting room that keeps year-round dates, but November has to provide something of a calmer moment for many winemakers. After all, lots of the major crush events have wrapped, but the hectic holiday fairs and sales haven't quite kicked in. (Although those seem to be starting earlier every year.) So A Wine & Food Affair hits at just the perfect moment. That's the first weekend in November, or Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6. Over 100 wineries in the Russian River, Dry Creek, and Alexander Valley areas of Sonoma will be hosting a mid-fall Tasting Along the Wine Road event.

EATS, TOO: Small bites will be on the offer at several of the vineyards, the better to pair with wines. And all ticket holders will receive a "Tasting Along the Wine Road" cookbook. Seventy dollars scores you a ticket for both days; note there are designated driver tickets for much less. Bone up on your vineyards and what the cookbook will offer, too.
