It's all about the hops on Healdsburg Plaza on Saturday, Sept. 10.
BEER FEST: If a celebration of beer is simply about the art of beer, that is well and good and certainly beer drinkers and beer makers benefit. But if that festival can help out an important organization at the same time, well. That's so much the better. Soroptimist International, a group that "seeks to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world," hosts an annual brew celebration on Healdsburg Plaza. The 2011 event is happening on Saturday, Sept. 10 and tickets are $20. Three good things to know? This year marks a quarter century for this coming-together. The beers and their brewers hail from across the Golden State. And best of all? All funds raised go to the projects and goals of Soroptimist International, which counts Beer on the Plaza as its major annual fundraiser.
Oh, and a fourth and fifth thing to know. You can get your ticket at the gate, and your best four-footed bud should best stay home.
