You don't need to measure the shoreline of this celebrated alpine lake, though, footprint by footprint, to take it all in; you can enjoy its full sweep from the seat of your bike, over one sweet September Sunday. Nope, you won't be measuring the lake's shoreline while you're out on your two wheels — it has over 70 miles of shoreline, by the by, if you're curious — but you will be enjoying one of the most unusual of bike rides, and one of the most picturesque.     15TH ANNUAL TOUR DE TAHOE — BIKE BIG BLUE, and it pedals its way around the azure expanse of watery wonderfulness on Sunday, Sept. 10. That's right, this ride is a lake loop, rather than a Point A to Point B deal. It's Point A to Point A, or, more accurately in this case, a Parking Lot C at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe to Parking Lot C at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe deal. The ride? It's 72 miles in all, and it "...includes a challenging 800-foot climb to a rest stop overlooking Emerald Bay and a 1,000-foot climb to Spooner Junction."
